Ridley Scott’s neo-noir, cyberpunk vision of Los Angeles in 2019 is one of those touchstone filmic environments that is so imaginative and so fully realized onscreen that it immediately transports you into its reality. Would it were that something more memorable happened there.
Is this the best movie ever made? Well, the great thing about movies is that arguing what the best one of all time is can keep you arguing until you pass out. But this is certainly my favorite, hands down.
If Andy Serkis is nominated for an award, and for the record, I think he’d be fully deserving of one, hang on to your seats.
Spoiler Alert: “Captain America” is awesome and “Cowboys & Aliens” isn’t.
Overall, my masculine side says this film is a blockbuster that you’ll quickly forget you saw. My feminine side says Robert Pattison is hot.
A film like this demands a charismatic and vulnerable lead actor, and Bradley Cooper is quickly establishing himself as the right guy for those jobs.
Matt Damon and Emily Blunt are maybe the first action film couple I’ve seen in years that had great chemistry.
I suspect it ranked well below what it should have because people knew too much about it before they saw it
Can we please freeze him circa 1982 during his “The Empire Strikes Back” and/or “Raiders of the Lost Ark” days?
This “re-write” is not mine at all – it actually sprang from the minds of the men who created “Raiders” in the first place.
I go back and forth in my mind whether this or RAIDERS is the best of the series.
