Indiana Jones
REPORTING FROM THE FLOOR OF COMIC-CON 2013
Justin Bowler and Paul Preston bring you The Movie Guys’ annual sights and sounds report from the San Diego Comic-Con, the world’s biggest ball of awesome.
WHAT THE FLIX?
When you pick a movie on Netflix to watch, Netflix will recommend other films and TV shows to view. Sadly, this recommendation process is run by monkeys. But the result is Matteo sharing some of the looniest recommendations with you.
MOVIE REVIEW – STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS
This movie held my attention with its intense action scenes from the moment it started, its characters were real, learning and evolving, making decisions that I could understand and follow. In short, it was masterfully executed in all areas of review.
POSTERS THAT MAKE YOU GO, “UH…?”
Our Movie Guy Matteo Molinari looks at the art work that can turn you off to a film before you even go in the theater.
THE MOVIE GUYS REWRITE: BLADE RUNNER
Ridley Scott’s neo-noir, cyberpunk vision of Los Angeles in 2019 is one of those touchstone filmic environments that is so imaginative and so fully realized onscreen that it immediately transports you into its reality. Would it were that something more memorable happened there.
MOVIE REVIEW – RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK
Is this the best movie ever made? Well, the great thing about movies is that arguing what the best one of all time is can keep you arguing until you pass out. But this is certainly my favorite, hands down.
REPORTING FROM THE FLOOR OF COMIC-CON 2012
I won’t regurgitate the same old manure you could get EVERYWHERE else. Instead, I will inform you of my own personal journey. It is so much sweeter (and it has funnier (and hotter, I might add) pictures).
THE MOVIE GUYS’ SECOND-EVER HOLIDAY SPECIAL
The Movie Guys enjoy the 2011 holiday season with music, comedy, stories, food and even a visit from St. Nicholas. They also find time to preview the newest movies in theaters, including “Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy”, “The Darkest Hour”, “The Lady”, “The Sitter”, “Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows”, “Carnage”, “Young Adult”, “Albert Nobbs”, “The Iron Lady”, “We Bought a Zoo”, “New Year’s Eve”, “Shame”, “War Horse”, “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo”, “The Adventures of Tintin” and “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol”
RISE OF THE FRANCHISE OF THE FACE
If Andy Serkis is nominated for an award, and for the record, I think he’d be fully deserving of one, hang on to your seats.
MOVIE REVIEW – CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER/COWBOYS & ALIENS
Spoiler Alert: “Captain America” is awesome and “Cowboys & Aliens” isn’t.
MOVIE REVIEW – SUPER 8
Abrams has obviously given himself the specific assignment of making a send-up of a sort of film, much as Spielberg & Lucas did when they made “Raiders”
DE-AGING HARRISON FORD
Can we please freeze him circa 1982 during his “The Empire Strikes Back” and/or “Raiders of the Lost Ark” days?
THE MOVIE GUYS REWRITE: RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK
This “re-write” is not mine at all – it actually sprang from the minds of the men who created “Raiders” in the first place.
