A film so nice, I had to see it twice. Let me re-phrase that…a film so MASSIVE, viewing it twice is required. Doesn’t rhyme, but that’s more accurate.
It never adds up to grand scenes or emotions, but it puts hooks in you that will have you re-visiting the film in your mind days later.

A documentary with off-centered humor and a dash of warmth.
Bank robberies, cops on the trail, open carry – all sounds like the formula for an action film, but Hell or High Water gets more mileage out of dialogue, strong character and anticipation of violence.
I Saw the Light gets stuck in the musical biopic rut early and often.
The film goes just far enough with its take on a woman-with-a-gun storyline, any further and you dip into “Bad Girls” territory and the strong female leads become too jokey.
For all its ambition to deliver a unique time travel tale, “Synchronicity” stumbles over itself with convoluted storytelling
