It’s not without its flaws, but that’s no reason to damn the movie as a whole.
BRAVE and INSIDE OUT both won Oscars, and I’m predicting the same for COCO.
A return to form for the franchise, even if it’s not a return to the pre-2006 Pixar that hit a home run EVERY TIME they released a new movie.
This movie had no shot.
As the lights came back on in the theater, I along with my group could not help but feel only partially satisfied.
A first class Marvel production that may be the pedigree of the bunch.
Pixar has done it again. When they are at they best, they find a combination of laughs, action and heart that few other animated (or live action) films can match.
A multi-million dollar risk that pretty much hits all the right notes.
Marvel has tapped into everything that made it successful as a comic book champ, and has now translated it to film.
It’s quite a testament to the consistent quality Pixar has brought to films for twenty years that even though they’ve had some missteps recently, the fact that they NAIL IT once again with their newest release, “Inside Out”, is no real surprise.
There is a LOT going on in “Avengers: Age of Ultron”, the latest in the ongoing saga of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. That works both for and against the film, but overall, in the hands of Joss Whedon, it’s never dull.
And now, the story of “Into the Woods”, the re-imagining of famous fairy tales by James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim, directed by Rob Marshall.
